Our Story

Together since 2011, we're Jesse and Laura, first-generation livestock producers. We bought a 30-acre run-down retired hog and row crop farm in 2021, starting off with six sale-barn Angus heifers and a dream.

Since then, we've grown to 70+ head of cattle purposed for cow-calf, feeding, breeding stock production (including Registered Herefords) and now backgrounding. Our beef shares sell out sometimes more than a year in advance, with repeat customers. We added layer hens, and more recently hair sheep. All in the name of diversification of assets and adding more consistent income streams to help make the farm profitable. This on top of Jesse's construction business and Laura's full-time corporate job off the farm.

We started going to the Syracuse Farmer's Market in 2023 selling Laura's sourdough bread, and that's transformed into an outlet to sell our home-raised beef, eggs, and tallow products and get our name out in the community. While Laura still does special orders for bread products, her focus is now on the other items as life has gotten busier.

Being first-generation, although we do have some family members in the farming industry and gain knowledge from them, we have learned a lot from experience and many different online resources (we LOVE YouTube and follow many farmers and livestock producers who have channels!). With all of this multi-source knowledge, we do things a little differently around here. We're also heavy on social media because we believe it's important to see where and who your food comes from.
